Two Hundred Twenty-Two Premier League Scores, 325 International Appearances

The team Veterans Over 35s are based in southern Manchester and play in the Cheshire Veterans League Top Tier.

The roster this campaign features 9 former Premier League footballers, with a collective 1,801 elite appearances.

The high-profile team also boasts 222 Premier League goals and 325 global appearances.

The squad feature one forward, who scored 37 scores in 117 games for Newcastle United after joining them for nine million pounds from German league side SC Freiburg in January 2012.

He had his first appearance for Wythenshawe in their most recent home game against reigning champions their rivals and scored every one of the six scores in a 6-2 win - featuring a 32-minute opening period hat-trick.

Stephen Ireland began turning out for the side during preseason this summer through good mate and current Wythenshawe teammate Blake Norton, and the former Irish midfielder then asked additional former professionals, who all play in a weekly nine-a-side match, to participate.

Former Senegal striker Niasse, who netted 12 goals in sixty-five Premier League games for Everton and even now goes to their matches at Goodison Park, also had his first appearance against the opposition - who are located in Liverpool and wear an Everton warm-up gear as their uniform.

"A mate Stephen said 'come and play, it's a laugh'," said the striker.

"After that he informed me we were playing a team from Liverpool and the shock I had when I saw them sporting Everton kits - I say this is strange for me!

"If you still love the game and you know you can still play, anywhere you can play, what are you going to do?

"Those spectators who turn up and see are happy and to give a day if they see us competing there and to ask us questions - it's more like the pleasure of us getting somewhere we can enjoy football, with organisation of course."

So great is the strength in depth at the club, Niasse had his debut at full-back.

"It's a little different but then, I love running and just move inside - I'm not defending that much," he said.

"I warn my centre-back 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to keep running.

"That running is what I'm looking for. It's good fun."

Dreamlike' Feeling

In addition to Cisse's six scores on his first game, Stephen Ireland has scored 8 in three games for Wythenshawe, while Boyd hit five on his debut match and Lescott, a centre-half by trade, scored a hat-trick in one match as a striker.

Wythenshawe are top of the Premier Division with three victories from three and a GD of plus nineteen.

One opponent, 38, who plays on the wing for Collegiate OB, faced former Latics full-back Figueroa on the weekend - and had to tell his nine-year-old boy who Emile Heskey was.

He has played at two World Cups for his country, in addition to featuring in over two hundred top-flight games.

"The news was going round like a rumor they had all these ex-Premier League players," remarked Barrow.

"I felt I was a little awestruck facing Figueroa to be honest.

"Also Heskey got on and he's has over 60 English appearances.

"Our side held our own for a solid 20 minutes but then we had a man dismissed and it was tough.

"Our group really haven't ceased talking about it - I was phoning my mother and brother on the way home.

"They were all really nice, shaking our hands after the game - it was like playing a bunch of regular fellas.

"Now we are eager for the second fixture."
